Samantha and Jake’s Love Story

I’m just soooo excited to share this very special love story and a ‘In Love’ shoot with you. I was really excited to photograph Samantha and we did the shoot in a park very close to my house. I just LOVE it there. The light was just amazing on the day of the shoot, which was one of the warmest days of the British summer!

Here is their love story, by Sam:

“I remember the day Jake and I first met very well. I’d just come back from a big night out in a Brixton nightclub. He’d come to visit my flatmate (his friend) to decide whether or not he would move in to the house.

Although I looked dishevelled from not having slept the night before, something struck when I met him. His eyes lit up when he saw me, and from behind the Macbook screen that he had in front of him, he kept stealing glances at me. I loved the initial shyness that he had when we first talked, and even though I was seeing someone else then, I thought Jake was so different from any other guy I’ve met before.

He soon moved in and we became exceptionally good friends. He would always look out for me and in his presence, I would always feel at ease and lifted. It was through our friendship that our love grew its roots. Overtime, I’d subconsciously fallen in love with him, even if I had denied it each time my friends teased me about him.

As they say, the course of true love never did run smooth, which depicted the misadventures and broken hearts we each had to go through before we understood the true meaning of love. At the end of this road, we realised that despite everything, we were so deeply entwined in each other’s hearts that being apart was unthinkable.

Our love is now locked in a constant dance of giving and taking, protecting and nurturing – and as time passes – we learned so much about ourselves and became better people. This is why I believe in us so much. He builds fountains on my dreams and I show him the beauty of each colour of the rainbow. And when it rained, as it did once, he put me on his back for a piggyback ride, ran down the street, and brought the shampoo out so we can wash our hair in the rain.

Although our love grew steadily overtime, I feel that it was love at first sight. If it’s meant to be, love will always find its way to your heart.
