Ah, more summer prettiness! I have to admit that I LOVE summers here in the UK and the gardens are just gorgeous! That is why I love photographing outdoors so much and you have to make the most of the season. Gwenda (The Vintage Floral Design Co) and I have done a lot of shoots together in 2013 and this gorgeous and classic peony inspired shoot was one of them :) Gwenda styled the shoot and crated the gorgeous bouquet.
This time I can also share some awesome tips from organic make-up artist Laura Jane Sessions. She tells you how to re-create this beautiful natural look:
“The premiss was to design a soft, flattering smokey look that could easily be replicated at home. I wanted to keep it as minimal as possible and so tried to avoid using too many products as this can be daunting to someone wishing to do it themselves. I applied a primer and foundation to the face and blended it into the neckline before added concealer where necessary. I then used a peach cream blush along the underside of cheekbone and blended it upwards and set it by lightly dusting a small amount of pressed powder to the t-zone. I combed through and then defined the brows using a matte brown eyeshadow. A peach toned shadow was washed over the lid and up to the brow bone to act as a base before building up the colour on the lid with warm matte browns, blending them into the socket line to create a soft smokey eye. I lined the eye both top and bottom with a dark brown shadow as this gives a softer line than a pencil or liquid liner. Brown mascara was applied before adding some light, natural looking false lashes. The lips were lined and then filled using a nude pencil before finishing with a pink gloss. I added a hairpiece to the models own hair to give it length and used a finishing spray to keep it sleek. For the first part of the shoot I put it in a simple pony and added the fishtail plait detail as the day progressed.”
